Christianity is the formula of the individual, and as such is eternal and perfect to my thinking—for that formula no one can nullify.

I FEAR, DEAR FRIEND, THAT YOU ARE BENT TOO MUCH ON SELF-ANALYSIS, ON THINKING TOO MUCH OF YOUR SALVATION. LET GOD THINK OF IT; YOUR TASK IS TO ACT FOR THE FULFILMENT OF HIS LAW WHENEVER AND AS MUCH AS YOU CAN; TO PRAY AND WISH FERVENTLY FOR IT WHENEVER ACTION IS FORBIDDEN, AND TO TRUST HIM WITHOUT ANY TERMS… LOVE HIM IN A SIMPLE, UNEX-ACTING, UNSCRUTINIZING WAY AS A CHILD HIS MOTHER.

Yes! Yes! I believe in God!

Above all beliefs, is God, the consciousness of an immortal soul, and the faith in other worlds nearer Him, in a necessary progress of ours towards God, in a virtue which must resist all temptations, in a constant sacrifice, in a love of the humanity in which He has placed us, in a worship of prayer, of affection, of sacred poetry.
